Overview

This one hour course reviews, in detail, the theories of supervision, ethical issues, and supervisor responsibilities of non-AAMFT board-approved supervisors in the state of Kentucky. In addition, this course explores the laws that govern the practice of marriage and family therapy for Kentucky Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Marriage and Family Therapy Associates. 


Participants who complete this course will be able to: 

  • Participants will be able to identify their theory of supervision.
  • Participants will be able to apply their understanding of ethical issues in the practice of marriage and family therapy to their role as supervisor. 
  • Participants will understand and apply knowledge of supervisor responsibilities such as logs, treatment planning, and recording.

Meet the Presenter

Mary Badami is an LMFT in Indiana and Kentucky. She graduated from Johnson Bible College with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She was an Instructor and then an Assistant Professor at Louisville Bible College for 10 years in the Family Ministry and Counseling Department, eventually serving as Acting Department Head. Mary has served on a Psychiatric Emergency Team for 2 hospitals in Indiana. She served on the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapy for 6 years, serving as board chair for 4 of those years. As part of her service on the board, she attended the AMFTRB annual meeting as the Kentucky State Delegate. She currently provides supervision to students at Campbellsville University. Mary has a small private practice where she supervises Marriage and Family Therapy Associates.
