Northstar Counseling

This course focuses on systemic practices for success in telehealth, particularly in working with trauma via telehealth. With a focus on how to maintain safety and connection with our clients, this course will discuss how we can set ourselves up for success, including self-of-therapist considerations, relationality in trauma work done over telehealth, and how we can effectively and safely support our clients through teletherapy.

Participants who complete this course will be able to: 

• Implement systemic strategies that encourage success for ourselves as therapists doing trauma work, or any work, over telehealth 
• Implement strategies for creating safety with clients online, from how we present ourselves to supporting client regulation to using tools and resources when we can’t rely on what’s in our office 
• Utilize our clients’ natural supports in an ethical and effective way by bridging relational work, trauma work, and teletherapy 
• Recognize self-of-therapist, skills and areas for growth that can contribute to effective telehealth trauma work
