Course Description

This course offers a foundational understanding of the history and rationale for using play therapy techniques, emphasizing its importance and impact on emotional expression and comprehension within families.  Participants will gain practical skills in utilizing play therapy techniques to explore, address, and improve family dynamics, along with fostering therapeutic connection.  By the end of the course, participants will have learned various play therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of various age groups within the family unit, including: 

- Understand the history of play therapy and importance in working with children in the family system

 - Utilize play therapy techniques to explore and address family dynamics

 - Promote emotional expression and comprehension though play-based interventions

 - Tailor play therapy techniques to suite various age groups within the family.
