About the course
This 2-hour continuing education course helps therapists build safety, connection, and confidence when providing trauma therapy via telehealth. Through a systemic and relational lens, participants will learn practical strategies for supporting client regulation, preparing for trauma work, utilizing natural supports, and maintaining connection when therapy happens online. The course also explores self-of-therapist considerations and the unique challenges of trauma work through telehealth, helping clinicians create an online therapeutic environment that supports both safety and meaningful relational work. Participants who complete this course will be able to:
Implement systemic strategies that encourage success for ourselves as therapists doing trauma work, or any work, over telehealth.
Implement strategies for creating safety with clients online, from how we present ourselves to supporting client regulation to using tools and resources when we can’t rely on what’s in our office
Utilize our clients’ natural supports in an ethical and effective way by bridging relational work, trauma work, and teletherapy Recognize self-of-therapist, skills and areas for growth that can contribute to effective telehealth trauma work
